@SPNigeria Ahmed Lawan just appointed @fesadedayo as his SA on Media. This ignoble man attacked Buhari, Tinubu, APC and Oshiomole severally in his articles
Now he has jumped on an offer to sit with those he called names. Where is the honour? None I guess, it's all hustle.

Apparently AIT had already filed a case in court on May 30th, sensing that NBC would come for their jugular. The judge asked both parties to maintain status quo as at May 30 when AIT filed its case..

The court rejected 2 prayers sought by AIT -
To prevent NBC from jamming their signals and invading their premises.

The law can be very funny at times with different interpretations. I am a Medical doctor and let's assume I have my clinic and a pharmaceutical company. My regulators are NAFDAC and MDCN.
They are established by the laws of the land to regulate my activities in the healthcare space. I also have clearly written guidelines from both of them, which I agreed to before obtaining my license to practise and run my pharmaceutical company.

NBC warned AIT about violating the broadcasting code and cited examples. The NBC broadcasting code was not written by Buhari. It was first drafted in 1993..
#AITUnderSiege and amended in 1996, 2002, 2006, 2012 and 2016.

Freedom anywhere in the world does not equate foolishness. AIT can proceed to court to challenge the case.

AIT's office was raided in 2006 by the police over OBJ's third term story..
#AITUnderSiege Without any warning from NBC, Gbenga Aruleba of AIT was charged with sedition and locked up. Some of you were too young to even know what happened back then.

Some people's existence and relevance is tied to the Biafran hate propaganda. The old politicians who twisted the story to make it seem like it wasn't a war. As if the Biafran soldiers were sitting ducks, as if Ojukwu had no expansionist agenda..
They won't talk about the Abagana ambush where over a thousand Nigerian soldiers were killed while those captured were beheaded in broad daylight. They won't tell them about the Okene nd Auchi massacre.
They won't mention the fact that Ojukwu entered Portharcourt, controlled the land and seized Shell BP. They won't mention the fact that his fighter jets kept pounding other cities repelling the NNS Lokoja.

They won't mention his invasion into the mid west.

It's basically impossible to turn base #rstats into a more consistent beast: changes would brake huge amounts of code. Creating a number of new R functions (the tidyverse) is one way forward. At the end of the day, they are just R code.
Those worried about the purity and integrity of #rstats should worry more about Rcpp (with its huge influx of foreign Cpp code) than the tidyverse. In my case, I welcome both Rcpp and tidyverse, as they expand the palette I can use when writing code. #diversity
In my mind, the brilliance of @hadleywickham et al. was realizing the importance of code as communication tool. The tidyverse emphasizes communication of ideas and the design is heavy on communicating its features through great documentation.

#Ethiopia: @PMEthiopia indicates there has been a plane crash involving @flyethiopian "Boeing 737 on regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning." The office extended it’s condolences to the families who lost their lives. But, there is no corresponding info as of yet.
Update: FanaBC confirms the news. "Ethiopian airline Boeing 337 flight from Addis Abeba to Nairobi crashed," the headline says. The news provides no further detail other than the quote from the PM office

Update: It's confirmed. The aircraft B-737-800MAX with registration number ET- AVJ took off at 08:38 am local time from AA, Bole Intl Airport & lost contact at 08:44am. It crashed around Bishoftu. It has 149 passengers & 8 crew members. fanabc.com/english/2019/0… (Pic: Profile).

1) I'm not sure how to make people remember or care that 15 years ago the United States invaded Iraq, setting off a war that continues to this day, with several hundred thousand Iraqis dead, millions turned into refugees. I covered the invasion for the New York Times Magazine.
2) Though I'm a writer, I shot photos during the invasion as I drove a rented Hyundai SUV from Kuwait into Iraq via Safwan, then up the spine of the country to Nasiriya, Diwaniya, Hilla, Kut and finally Baghdad. Here's the Hyundai on March 19, 2003. It's clean--that will change
3) The photographer I worked with, Laurent vander Stockt, drove his own SUV. After several failed attempts to get into Iraq, one time turned back at gunpoint by U.S. soldiers, we finally got through, via what we guessed was a minefield (I followed Lauren tracks). Here's Laurent.
