These quotes came from a Colorado newspaper, Colorado Independent, a digital newspaper. Found it sometime after C'ville.
Obviously, Trump appeals to this element, as the Proud Boys and White Power groups turned out at Trump rally wearing MAGA hats - in the rain. @TerryMcAuliffe

There’s a tennis tournament and many other festivities to celebrate the life of Arthur Ash. We also learned that noted artist/sculptor Kehinde Wiley will sculpt a powerful equine statue, mounted by a young AfricanAmerican, an artistic response to older monuments.2
This powerful artistic response will tour different art museums, finding permanent home at @vmfa in Richmond, VA. This effort has been I think wisely managed, with no guarantees of a successful outcome. We had community meetings where everyone had an opportunity to be heard.3

I know where these attacks are really coming from & @washingtonpost is putting its efforts behind driving @JoeBiden out of this race & no one who could beat Trump is an option. @mollylroberts joins other histrionic narcissitic harpies to keep power with the coastal elites.
Women like @ktumulty @mollylroberts others in the inside the Beltway crowd, whose snide urban elitist conceit disdain people of faith with who actually attend church regularly like @JoeBiden who speaks for middle class working folk in flyover country, outside corridors of power.
There have been many absurd attacks on @JoeBiden but comparing him to this POTUS is the most ignorant, intellectually vacuous attack to date. Copngratulations Ms. Roberts. You have revealed your utter lack of both credibility and wit. This is a really stupid piece @PostOpinions

One of the questions I pursued when working on the A12 podcast, which looked at the history behind the deadly violence in Charlottesville last year, was why the anti-Semitism of Aug 11 & 12 seemed to disappear so rapidly from the narrative. /1
It wasn’t that no one *ever* spoke of it, but given its prominence — chants of “Jews will not replace us,” Nazi flags, the targeting of the synagogue — it seemed to get relatively little attention. /2
The rabbis and scholars I spoke to mused that there were a variety of reasons for this: our limited way of thinking about white supremacy, the sense that anti-Semitism is an odd relic of the past, the awareness that black Americans face much more serious systemic racism. /3

What does Russia/Putin have to do with white nationalism and social conservatism?

Almost everything.

You cannot understand trump’s support for certain domestic and foreign policies unless you understand the connection between Putin and the far right in America.

Trump is an unusual president in that he doesn’t govern to the center, but instead, to his base, a minority of voters in America. Given that he does that, it’s important to understand his base-who are they?
They consist primarily of two factions-racist white nationalists and social conservatives.

White nationalists are the new incarnation of white supremacists. They believe in the creation of a white ethno-state and vehemently opposed to immigration and diversity.

Periodic reminder: A few years ago, one of the most dangerous white nationalists in America wrote a game plan for how to bring about Ethnic Cleansing in America.

This white nationalist's name is Richard Spencer. He's the Nazi that keeps getting punched.
He theorized that most white Americans weren't ready for ethnic cleansing, even though it would benefit them. They needed to be brought to it slowly. During this slow transition, government authority would be consolidated under a new Fuhrer with absolute power.
Once power was consolidated, the weaker stomached white people would have no choice.

This is of course, a silly racist pipe dream. Half of the white population of America wouldn't accidentally join a movement whose primary objective is ethnic cleansing... would they?
