In Lahore, Saba showed me the remants of her old life with her children in east London: an Oyster card, an Iceland bonus card and three Sure Start library cards for her children, who she may never see again.

Only a few women make it back - often after fighting the Home Office for years. Sidra Khan is now with her children and managing a McDonalds in Birmingham. She said: "I felt my kids slipping away from me. I feel so unlucky, but also so, so lucky, after what I've been through".
