Just got out of Toy Story 4 with my parents, who are here visiting. It was... interesting. It's kinda weird how they'd ended it on such a solid note last time, but they still make it work.
It follows the Pixar story formula... kinda. It has some good twists... kinda. It's got those sad moments... kinda. There's a lot to it, but nothing jumped out at me as noteworthy.
Oh, speaking of! It's only 90 minutes, but it felt like an eternity. I'm not really sure why that is. I blame the kinda meandering story that has to keep artificially extending itself to... pad out the runtime, I guess.
But Disney/Pixar's magic is in their characters, and they never fail to disappoint. ...Unfortunately all of my favorite characters are spoilers, so let's stick with Woody and Buzz.
They can also do a lot with all the different types of toys, giving us all sorts of different shapes and sizes, from a giant fluffy bunny to a Polly Pocket minifig.
I saw one review say it was just one sad scene to another, which is basically true, but I have a heart of stone, so... sorry. If it helps, one towards the end got me a little. It reminded me of the closer to Inside Out.
Anywho, it was fine. It's like Star Wars, where I'll eat anything served just because of the brand, no matter how so-so. Verdict: White, for loyalty and family and finding the ones who love, yadda yadda it's a Toy Story movie, you know the drill.
Oh, I meant to add: better than 3, worse than 1/2.
