People who are misunderstanding this tweet do not realize that @Sifill_LDF, & those of us who work in this system, encounter people like Sarah Fabian every single day.

You are seeing one person on TV make the sort of soulless callous arguments we hear in court all the time.
It is wonderful that people are getting to see this because there are cameras in federal court. This is one reason many of my colleagues and I tweet about what happens to our clients in state court.
It's why @ava making @WhenTheySeeUs and telling the stories of what happened to Korey, Antron, Kevin, Raymond, & Yusef was so vital and powerful.
Just don't make the mistake of thinking Sarah Fabian and Linda Fairstein are uniquely terrible. They're not. They're representative of so many. They're horrible cruel human beings. Morally bankrupt. Corrupt. Let's hold them to account, however we can.
If we focus on them so much that we forget they are also cogs in a machine and that there are thousands to take their place, we fail the children in concentration camps and we fail the children in prison and jail now. The children being prosecuted now.
It's also why I would really encourage people to come and sit in their local criminal court for a few hours and watch arraignments. It's just as horrifying. Even better reach out to @CourtWatchNYC or @CourtWatchMA about volunteering or follow them on here to learn what goes on.
Just please believe me when I say it is just as bad. All of it is really as bad as Sarah Fabian, already.
