.@WaywardWinifred @briebriejoy Have you seen this. @BernieSanders says 2 seconds in, he would close the facilities the children are currently being held in and doesn't want children to be held in detention centers. @Enrique_Acevedo has completely misrepresented the interview.
Let me correct @Enrique_Acevedo's recitation of the interview.

First question: Should the current facilities be shut down?

@BernieSanders: Yes.

Like literally within the first 2 seconds, he says they should be closed.

@Enrique_Acevedo's tweet says the exact opposite.
@BernieSanders: When we talk about providing accommodation to immigrants who have crossed the border we should not use the word detention centers because detention centers are jails. People who cross the border should not be in jails.
@BernieSanders: "I think we can find decent safe accommodations for those people who are seeking asylum."

"We should not be treating them as criminals."
But @Enrique_Acevedo's tweet says @BernieSanders said the current facilities should not be called detention centers, as if to suggest he doesn't think they are that bad.

Again, the exact opposite of what he said.
This is SO WRONG because @Enrique_Acevedo has a huge following among Latinx voters and now this is being retweeted by people not watching the video, who are relying on what he said. And it's not just anyone transcribing it, it's the interviewer.
.@Enrique_Acevedo this is not a matter of interpretation or ambiguity, this is basic misrepresentation of facts. Journalistic integrity demands you delete these tweets.
