Everyone asks how I cope with the human suffering and abuse I witnessed at the CBP facilities. I struggle to find the words to convey what I have seen. It was a defining event in my life. There was my life before, and my life now. I will never be the same.
The only way I know how to move forward is to take action. Because if I don't I will break under the weight of grief and rage. So, to anyone listening please light a candle on July 12 in honor of those whose human rights we have violated. They are people. People just like us.
Move forward. Take action. Join the warriors in the arena. It's scary but if I can do it, so can you. To my sisters @KristinMinkDC @ECMcLaughlin @merylnyc and all the others in the arena (you know who you are) I love you and I will stand with you until the end. That is how I cope

This event is a "Salute to the Heroes of ICE and CBP"...but Trump keeps calling CBP "CBC."
Trump lies: "The men and women of DHS are building the border wall as we sit, and the wall is getting longer and taller and stronger each and every day."

The wall has not been started at all.

Twitter's plan to discourage echo chambers by having tweets from outside your follower network show up in your feed is a horrendously disastrous idea on its face, but fundamentally does not understand what echo chambers are, how they work, and how they are maintained.
It's nightmarish in the sense that a trans girl's tweets ending up on MAGA timelines will get her harassed, abused, and bombarded with death threats. Conversely, throwing tweets from hostile alt-righters into everyone else's timeline exposes them to indirect harassment and abuse.
It's a move that will only help abusers find targets.

Now, when I say that Twitter fundamentally doesn't understand what echo chambers are, what I mean is that they aren't two different circles of people not interacting with each other, but rather a mindset or ideology.
