SCOTUS Three Rulings:
1) 1st - in US v. Davis. The court holds that Section 924(c)(3)(B) is unconstitutionally vague.
The vote was 5-4. Gorsuch's opinion was joined by Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan....
Kavanaugh dissents, joined by Thomas and Alito; Roberts joined all but one part of the dissent.
This was a case about the definition of the phrase “crime of violence,” for purposes of a federal criminal prosecution for using a gun during such a crime....
Kavanaugh's dissent is significantly longer than Gorsuch's opinion. It starts "Crime and firearms form a dangerous mix."

This will go down as another split between Gorsuch and Kavanaugh in terms of their tendency to side with the Court's liberal wing,

Dear @licoricelover I am a loyal customer but I must object to the way an employee railed negatively about the state of California...
when I asked why one brand would not ship to CA. She ranted about the politics and undue regulations of ‘everything’...
I did some research. California does not ban licorice, but they want customers to be aware that the FDA found that eating over 2 ounces, in a short period of time, could cause heart arrhythmias....

DHS will constantly shuffle the children, often to avoid scrutiny in particular locations. Most ordinary citizens not in position to know where kids are at particular moment or to get access to help them directly. Journalists, electeds, and specialized groups work on that. 2/
But gathering at Clint can make it THE place to demand that that location be closed, preserved, and contextualized - yes, like the Nazi camps have been - to indicate for posterity what the US govt is doing and has done. 3/

1) The awful and inhumane treatment of migrant children is finally getting the media treatment it deserves.

Major news orgs are exposing truly horrifying scenes.

I'd like to suggest that we should also use this occasion to discuss the deeper problems leading to this moment.
2) The problems leading to the asylum crisis at the border are vast and complicated, and don't lend themselves to easy answers.

They are going to require a major rethinking and a massive policy response.

Tfw folks are debating semantics vs addressing the inhumane treatment of people - human beings - at border.
Arguing over the term prevents folks from having to ask why children kidnapped and still not reunited even though ordered by court
Or having to justify keeping kids in a bus for days in TX heat.
