I get the point @annanorthtweets makes here about how the press covered the latest rape allegation against the President. @jayrosen_nyu & @JamesFallows have spoken more specifically to how the @nytimes covered — rather, referred to — it. It’s all fair. But...
....kvetching about press reaction only gets us so far. This would not be a more ennobling story if @nytimes had put it on Page 1. Maybe the next step should involve something other than grousing about why The Times doesn’t have a public editor.
For example, how about hunting down some Republican Trumpers — people like @JohnCornyn @SenCoryGardner & @SenJoniErnst — and getting them on record: do they believe Trump’s brazen denial or believe instead he raped his latest accuser? Don’t await the news, make the news.
