Given my wife's English heritage and love of Norway, this is an ideal #FIFAWWC to try and coax her into paying attention to. Let's see how it goes.

"Oooooh," she said when I told her of the match-up. "That's exciting."

Will you come and watch?
"I'll take a peek after this episode [of something she's watching on her iPad, I dunno what]"

OK, so far so good.

"I'm using you for Twitter #content again, by the way."
"OK. Wait, what are you saying about me?"
"I'm just informing the people of what you're saying."
"..... OK." [goes back to show on iPad]

Me shouting to the other room: "Well that's quick, 1-0 already!"
Her, assuming: "Norway?"
"No, England."
"Huh."

Update: It is taking a long time for the episode of whatever she's watching to be over with.

OK she's gone off to make tea and do something else, I think this ex-spear-a-mint is a failure

Alright, she's now sat down on the couch.
"I'm enjoying the French brass band in the stands. Very jaunty."

[she's back on the iPad in the other room now]
"It's 2-0 now. What do you think?"
"Hmm. I don't really know if I think anything. I know I should care because I hold a British passport. But Norway is the country of my heart."

It’s 3-0 and now I’m not even really watching anymore. My wife took the dog for a walk.
