For years, pathological dishonesty & claims of fake news distorted perceptions of reality to the point where society doesn't know who/what is believable. Crenshaw's projecting accusation of gaslighting is an attempt to blur the perception of who/what is pathologically disordered.
This tactic also allows the Right to characterize otherwise their offense-driven egregious behavior and actions as necessity-driven defensive reactions to the Left's *pathological behavior* and *gaslighting*.....1/

Yes, unfortunately, similar to "vulnerability" (in a personal/relationship context), admitting mistake is often erroneously seen as weakness....when in fact, both are a sign of strength and emotional/intellectual security. Unfortunately, as you point out….1/
….the political climate has evolved into a perfect storm where a certain segment of society’s insecurity/anxiety has created a fertile and receptive environment for an equally and dysfunctionally insecure leader whose overcompensation is so great,….2/
...that it not only masks/compensates for his own feelings of inadequacy and insecurity, but there is enough left over to compensate (and provide shelter) for people who are fearful, insecure, and anxious about their place in a changing world. 3/

Bernie's polling is decent, but that he does the 2nd-best against Trump (after Biden) is partly an artifact of name recognition. For instance, Buttigieg polls worse than Bernie vs. Trump. But Buttigieg actually has better favorables than Bernie among voters who know who he is.
It's certainly a messy relationship. Some liberals, including Bernie, have decent (though not great) polling. Some moderates don't. But favorability ratings, which allow voters to say they don't recognize a candidate, are a better way to assess this stuff than head-to-head polls.

#Actually, the chart actually shows clear evidence of the beer-wine frontier, with certain types of sprits (e.g. scotch, brandy/cognac) straddling the frontier. 🍺🍷
A few highbrow beers (although there's nothing *truly* highbrow on here) creep over into wineland, but that's sort of what you'd expect.

THAT, or "Joker" ends up being a lot of industry pros (some big names involved in this) venting their hangups about the current popularity of comic flicks via a parody of what they think the genre is; which seldom ends well.

A fun thing would be to go full-out and do a complete "Earth 3" movie: Good-guy Joker, Luthor etc vs evil versions of Superman, Batman, and so on.

It's the ONLY "alt universe" thing that needs NO setup, b/c *everyone* knows the baseline DC heroes/villains.

You are in control. It's difficult to remember this sometimes, but you have no obligation to keep anyone in your life who negatively impacts you. If your anxiety is triggered by the mention of a name-- if your stomach sinks & your flight instinct kicks in, then fucking listen.
It often takes us quite awhile to realize someone's toxicity has leeched into our bloodstream. We allow these people into our lives for various reasons: desperation, obligation, low self-esteem, nostalgia, guilt, deceit, association, etc. It's not your fault. But, it's fixable.
Pay attention to how you feel when w/them. Do they tear you down or build you up? Do you feel used or wanted? Do you feel energized or depleted? Do you feel like a burden or a blessing? Do you listen, but are never heard? Do they make time for you? Do you feel safe or insecure?
