I deeply dislike The Times story about Corbyn’s health. It’s based on no medical evidence, just a couple of senior civil servants allegedly saying he isn’t too on top of details. Which people have said about him for years. It also robs him of agency for the mess that Labour is in
It reminds me of all the stuff about Trump’s mental health. I can’t stand Trump, but I think that unless you have solid medical evidence it’s an ugly tactic to speculate on someone’s mental health. It’s also counter productive
And Corbyn is absolutely right to say that civil servants shouldn’t be briefing journalists in this way. This stuff about the Machiavellian puppeteers around him is also

Some big news. The Suicide Act 1961 makes it illegal to encourage or assist suicide. Today a legal challenge has been launched by Phil Newby, a man with motor neurone disease, to change that. I am on the legal team led by @paulebowen

It shouldn’t need to happen though, as @lloyd_rm’s position was so flimsy that he should never have taken it. He can’t possibly have blithely ignored Williamson’s actions, as he seems to say he did. He’s not the only one.
As this interview demonstrates very neatly, a number of Labour MPs appear to treat antisemitism differently to other forms of racism - becuase it is politically (though not morally) convenient to do so.

One reason the Unite bureaucracy is so pissed off with me is that my job is to write the truth. The truth is two key officials around Corbyn have more influence on policy than the entire shadow Cabinet and they got it badly wrong: their strategy lost us the European election....
The Times attack on Corbyn's health is of course bullshit. The allegation that officials refused to implement a Shadow Cabinet decision to leave the talks is true. Now to the substance...

First, why are @scotgov hurriedly coming out with an announcement with 2 days notice? Did they give all their MSPs the opportunity to submit a question, including those critical of proposals to date? Or have they tried to stack the deck with sympathetic allies in parl?
We ask because it is quite clear that certain, unelected, individuals, renowned for their abusive behaviour on Twitter and privileged links to those in power are claiming to have superior inside information.
