I became #ExProLife slowly. Raised in an evangelical home and attending a Christian school I was taught misinformation about pregnancy and why women abort. In my world "abortion doctors" were villains and aborters were pitiable wretches who didn't know what was good for them.
As I became an adult I began to see that maybe the reasons people seek an abortion were more complex than I was taught and when I entered my Libertarian phase (a right of passage for middle-class white males is seems) I became pro-choice even though I thought it was morally wrong
I was happy here for a long time but I was also a pastor. I got a front row seat to all the venom and hatred #Evangelicals and social conservatives have toward Democrats i.e. baby killers. It was nauseating to have to ingest all this hatred and try to teach a middle ground.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I’m not going to do that on the #Alabama assault on choice. Let’s just be clear, this has nothing to do with religion, or protecting children.
1. This isn’t about some insistence on Christian principles. Jesus gave us his commands- to love thy neighbor, to heal the sick, and give back to the poor. Do you see Alabama doing anything about the poor?
2. Most of Christianity opposes the death penalty. Has Alabama taken recent steps to eliminate it? Let me know.

About a quarter of folks support abortion under all circumstances, up to the moment of birth, for any reason. Another roughly 15-20% want it banned under absolutely all circumstances. The rest are in between; their views tend to be summed up by "Safe, legal, and rare".
