Dei.. Do you even realize what is being depicted here? Do you even know what the story of Gajasurasamhara was about? Don't twist our itihasa to fit your narrative, mythological wendy putra.
Anyway since the mythologist has spouted his ignorance, let me convert this into a thread on Gajasura's samara by Lord Shiva. Gajasura was no elephant, but a highly evil asura capable of maya.
The iconography of Gajasurasamhara was popular throughout Bharat at one point. But much of the iconography was lost in Uttara Bharat due to repeated barbarian invasion.

Much of it however remains preserved in Dakshina Bharat. This is from Melukote.
Along with Lingodbhava & Bhikshatanamurthy, the iconography of Gajasurasamhara is widely depicted in all Chola era temples. Maharajas of the time considered it a very important story to be told. The story of what awaits evil who commit Brahmana hatya.

Another carving of Lord Shiva slaying the evil Gajasura from the Airavateswara Temple at Darasuram, TN
