Mueller probe witness George Aref Nader will face new sex trafficking and child pornography charges at the federal court in Va. today, h/t to @ErinBanco.

Confirmed - Nader pleaded not guilty to charges of transporting child pornography and transporting a 14 y/o boy. His trial is set for Sept 30 at the USDC Eastern District of Virginia.

Update on Bijan Rafiekian (aka Bijan Kian) trial here in EDVA. Prosecutors have rested their case, no more witnesses will be called. The defense will introduce their case soon and will ask for a motion to dismiss citing lack of evidence, reasonable doubt.

Prosecutors asked Judge Trenga to hold off on a ruling until after the jury renders a verdict. He is considering that now on a short recess. This request indicates the govt is worried Trenga is leaning toward tossing the case. If he does, then govt will almost certainly appeal.
Update: Judge Trenga said there are "very substantial issues" with elements of both counts against Kian and things were "very circumstantial and speculative" but "there is evidence," he said and the court will allow the case to proceed.

At the Kian trial this a.m., we heard testimony from Jim Courtovich, a partner of Sphere Consulting, the company Flynn Intel Group hired to compile a video that they initially said would help private investors better understand why the coup in Turkey happened/Gulen's alleged role
Courtovich said of his first mtg with Ekim Alptekin - the Dutch-Turkish biz man who prosecutors say paid FIG $600K - Ekim was deeply disappointed with what Sphere had done so far. He was expecting Olivia Pope (of the TV show Scandal) Courtovich said.
Ekim told him: "I'm expecting investigations, congressional hearings, stories in the press. I'm getting none of this."
Courtovich said he "almost fell out of his chair."
The scope of the project FIG initially pitched had apparently changed drastically, he explained.

Good morning! Today the House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on "The Trump Administration’s Child Separation Policy: Substantiated Allegations of Mistreatment." I'll be livetweeting parts of the hearing (from 10AM-12PM).

Today's hearing is broken into two panels. Up first will be four members of Congress themselves testifying about what they witnessed firsthand at the border on a recent trip: Representatives @AOC, @RepEscobar, @RashidaTlaib, and @AyannaPressley.
The second panel includes both government and non-government witnesses. Members will hear from Jennifer Costello, Acting DHS Inspector General, Ann Maxwell, Assistant IG for HHS, Columbia Law's Elora Mukherjee, @youngcenter's Jennifer Nagda, and former ICE Director Thomas Homan.

- sub-prime individuals mostly used the shock to pay down debt, close revolving credit, improve credit scores.

- prime individuals took on more risk: higher mortgage balances, auto-loan balances, more risk taking.

Today is the 6th Friday of the #GreatReturnMarch. Last Friday there was a more organized attempt to reach the #GazaFence & Israeli army promised to respond harsher. Israel also declared human rights laws do not apply to the protesters. 48 killed & ~7,000 wounded so far in Gaza
