P.P.S. The point is not that *every* white human trafficker would get this treatment, but that *when* this treatment is given (i.e. in those obscenely rare instances) it would *only* be given to a white man, and if this still isn't clear enough read more books

(THREAD) As the author of two books detailing events connected to the Mueller Report, I've created a list of *100 questions* Democrats should ask Mueller when he testifies on July 24. Please RETWEET these questions in the hope we can all hold Congress accountable for asking them.
NOTE/ I divided these 100 questions into 5 categories of 20 questions, emphasizing the Mueller Report's too-little-discussed Vol. 1. As to Vol. 2, Dems can—and should—just ask Mueller to take them through the volume. We shouldn't expect fireworks or miracles from those questions.

"Grifting" (fraud or theft for financial gain) is a crime; accusations of grifting without evidence are libel. Tweeting out such accusations under the @MSNBC imprimatur generates legal liability for @MSNBC. I put up with this for too long; these malicious, false attacks stop now.
@MSNBC I don't have a Patreon; my analyses are offered on Twitter for free. I write books, but I've been doing so for 15 years now. I'm a Newsweek columnist, I teach journalism at a large public research university, and I have never "grifted" in my entire goddamn life. I'm sick of this.
@MSNBC There's been an assumption—for a long time now—that journalists can make false claims of "grifting" (criminal activity) without getting sued by those whose professional reputations they're trying to destroy. That ends now. @MSNBC can take some sort of corrective action, or I can.

Awesome! But that's *not the claim she faces*. The claim she faces is she knew about those conversations and *lied to Congress about them* to *hide* them.
(One of my specialties is decoding press-release attorney-speak. It's usually not too hard to see how a lawyer is cannily framing a given controversy—as here.)
PS/ Hicks' testimony was that she was "never present" for any conversations between Trump and Cohen about paying off Stormy Daniels. But here again, that's *not the claim*—the claim is that she was *on calls* that alerted her to the fact that these conversations were *happening*.

I've been accused in the last day or so of being a white women talking about Indian history. This mistakes a key point: My authority to speak about specific aspects of the Indian past does not rest on the color of my skin or on my gender.
I speak about Indian history as a trained scholar. We've been over this ad nauseam - I read Sanskrit, Indo-Persian, Braj Bhasha, Hindi & Urdu. I hold a PhD in South Asian Studies. I'm an Assistant Professor of History at a research university. I publish peer-reviewed scholarship.

Of course there's such thing as white privilege, as well as male privilege, straight privilege, cis privilege, Christian privilege, etc. Those who deny this obvious reality have their heads buried in the sand. Please note that the privileges I mentioned are all *unearned* --
that is, privileges one was born w or gained by association w a certain group rather than earned thru personal effort. To receive higher education is an earned privilege cuz you have to do well in high school, but there's no effort needed to enjoy privileges of the unearned sort.
I'm against unearned privileges simply becuz it is unfair. This has *nothing* to do with identity politics. If you find the above hard to swallow, that's probably becuz you enjoy some sort of unearned privilege w/o being aware of it, and you have some serious contemplation to do.

I need to say a couple of things while I have been retweeting all this, But first I need to thank .@MarkAmesExiled , @yashalevine , @mtracey and .@TheWarNerd and somewhat give props to Amy Martin of Empire Files, for exposing the lies we have seen for the last several years.
The next thing I want to say is I am for the Military. I have many friends who have who have served, and will continue to serve. I pray for them, and their safe return home with their families and loved ones.
And I want to make this very clear. Before i continue - before I say another word. There is such a thing and still is a thing called White Supremacy. Period. There is no such thing as White Privilege. There was such a thing as a "Patriarchal" structure but that has weakened.

Sure. Contrary to leftist opinion, socialism & its totalitarian sisters have never worked. Babies inside the womb are humans & thus deserve rights. Sex almost always determines gender. Borders matter. Family is essential to a thriving society. Superficial diversity is meaningless
Capitalism has done more to alleviate poverty than any other economic system. Men and women are different. Hate speech is free speech. The government isn’t good at taking care of people. The right to bear arms is essential to fighting tyranny.
There’s no such thing as “white privilege.” Intersectionality is an empty made up term. The gender pay gap doesn’t exist. The vast majority of people are not racist or sexist. Redistributing wealth doesn’t make the poor richer. We shouldn’t just “believe women.”

Yesterday, I visited one of our key strategic partners, who also doubles as my Rabi. Usually after the normal business talk and mappings, we spare some thoughts for our beloved Nigeria. Let me just share a bit of some misconceptions that is killing us as a people. (Thread).
Democracy; In its origin (Greek)& etymological sense, it means a composite of demos & kratos. Demos can be translated as “the people” (qua “native adult residents of a polis”) & kratos as “power,” democracy has a root meaning of “the power of dPeople.” But power in what sense? 🤔
Let me back track a bit to point out that when Democracy was first envisioned, it was designed in such a way that only educated people within the society were able to vote. Women and slaves were not allowed to vote. This wasn’t due to racism or misogyny (sexist).
