middle class lefties focus on inequality is just a facade for their own anger at not having access to the hyperabundance of the elite. they pretend its about people who are actually poor but its just their own greed, theyre mad they dont get their own billionaire style opulence
i feel bad for people that are [actually] in poverty but beyond that i think a lot of the current obsession with inequality is a mask for personal greed and jealousy when these people see the upper classes playing on yachts and private jets and basically want in on the action
again i of course actually feel bad for poor people and want to help them but when i look at the media and pop discussion about this what i really see are snakes using the existence of the poor as a mask for their own infinite material desires and greed
theres never a realistic lens put on it where we look at how many people are being lifted out of poverty now vs in the past. maybe this is a controversial take but after we get people to a certain standard of living im not really “angered” by the existence of the wealthy.
maybe that seems like boot licking. i have a problem with the sick or immoral things some wealthy people do but i cant really get down with the greed masked as virtue, just seems like the subtext is actually “if you had more stuff youd be happier”, not actual concern for the poor
basically, it is my great displeasure to inform you that the historical materialists are at it again, and their branding is better than ever
