I'll be honest, the idea of Tommy Robinson getting decked in prison by a 70 year old after squaring up to the pensioner to intimidate him is pretty funny to me
If this story is true, it tells us 3 things.

1. Tommy tried to bully a 70 year old, thinking that squaring up to a pensioner would guarantee a tough prison rep

2. Tommy can't take a 70 year old

3. Tommy has revealed to a prison full of inmates that he can't take a 70 year old
Imagine going to prison and during your first week revealing to your fellow inmates that a 70 year old pensioner in the shower can kick your ass #TommyRobinson

Step One: Bully someone weaker than you. Show the other prisoners you're one tough guy, thus ensuring you are not a target. Yes, a 70 year old pensioner in a shower will do.

Kind of impressed that Tommy didn't snitch though, considering during his last prison stint, he claimed a small TV was an infringement of his human rights

If white liberalism has a massive flaw, it's our inability to truly empathise with the experiences of people of other ethnicities. We are likely to overlook the consequences our actions, however well-meaning, may have on people of colour on the grounds that "we didn't mean to".
In the same way that white people in the US should think carefully before calling the police on black men and women for small things, as that may endanger their lives, we need to fully comprehend that sometimes small things we do can be harmful in a way we didn't intend.
When that happens, it does no good to double down about how we meant no harm, and that as white liberals, to call us racist is the REAL issue because, clearly, we're soo not.
We need to listen, understand and apologise, and do better. We can all do better, all the time.

Two years ago I was tricked into buying this adorable fluffy puppy, little knowing that a sock-stealing monster resided beneath that adorable exterior. Twas the last day I wore matching socks
Lexi, my previous black poodle, passed away the December before. I was heartbroken. Then I found out her litter sister had a litter. So naturally I drove to Coventry.
This one puppy came scrambling over, a black female poodle and began to lick my face. So she chose me, really.
Then later that day we lost that one puppy, and after twenty minutes, just when the breeder was going frantic, the mummy dog found the pup hiding under the barbecue in the garden. And I knew this was meant to be my wee dog.

I want to believe that #HandmaidsTale is building up to a commentary of race and privilege via June's ability to remain unscathed while women of colour suffer and die around her and often, because of her.
There's an interesting contrast in the way Ofmatthew/Natalie is treated by the other Handmaids for colluding with Aunt Lydia, and how Janine, a pet of Lydia's, is treated. Both are fragile. Ofmatthew is attacked and bullied, while Janine is treated with affection and kid gloves.
Is Ofmatthew the means by which the show tries to confront the racial issues that a society like Gilead would surely have? That women of colour will be treated kindly so long as they toe the line? If so, I would have liked to have seen more of her history. The actress was superb.

Good morning! Today the House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on "The Trump Administration’s Child Separation Policy: Substantiated Allegations of Mistreatment." I'll be livetweeting parts of the hearing (from 10AM-12PM).

Today's hearing is broken into two panels. Up first will be four members of Congress themselves testifying about what they witnessed firsthand at the border on a recent trip: Representatives @AOC, @RepEscobar, @RashidaTlaib, and @AyannaPressley.

Cubbing is utterly illegal. Huntsmen advertise it as "Fun Rides". They go out in evenings/early mornings to brutalise unsuspecting fox cubs.
