As oversight investigations and, hopefully, an impeachment inquiry gather momentum this Fall, it strikes me we shd organize subject matter-specific teams of experts to ‘shadow’ committee staff, prod them, challenge them, spread word of their successes, etc.
There’s going to be a LOT going on, too much for all of us to know all the ins and outs of. We may need a dozen ‘shadow staff’ teams, of 3-4 each. Must be highly credible ppl, probably lawyers for the most part but that’s not a prerequisite in my mind.
NOT a polemical exercise. Aim is to be as totally current on specific aspects of investigation as it is possible to be based on public info. Each team laser focused on its particular subject.
I particularly want to know if stuff is getting “lost in the shuffle,” or if tradeoffs are being made to focus on some things at the expense of others. If evidence is said to be lacking, I want an outside view of that. At least, we shd be aware such judgments are being made.
