I agree that's part of it. But another factor that people really don't understand yet is that the level of attrition companies are experiencing is much higher than in previous decades. People are also losing their senior people at rates they are not prepared for.
The job market is changing faster than even the *analysis* of the job market can keep up with. And one big issue I see is that companies aren't able to make predictable plans for things like headcount.
I see a lot of other things that I believe contribute to the instability we see in a lot of tech companies though. I see a lot of companies failing to execute and not understanding why.
