This would be more damning if these were the only headlines that these newspapers ran on the hearing, but they weren't.
The lead headlines in the Post and the Times focus on Mueller's warnings about future election meddling, not optics. 
And for what it's worth, we went with a headline that reminded everyone that Mueller never cleared the president. "Trump not exonerated, Mueller says."
Yes, too much coverage yesterday immediately leapt to conclusions about the political impact of Mueller's testimony.
But just because there was some discussion of the hearings' optics doesn't mean the media ignored the substance.
