August 2, 1944, Pres. Quezon's remains arrive in Washington, D.C. to lay in state in St. Matthew's Cathedral until funeral on August 4, 1944.

August 4, 1944: From hearse, coffin of Pres. Quezon moved to caisson for State Funeral in Arlington National Cemetery, VA. Funeral Procession.
August 4, 1944. State Funeral of President Quezon: internment in the Maine Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, pending return of remains to the Philippines after Liberation.
August 4, 1944: State Funeral for Pres. Quezon, arrives at Maine Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery. Pres. Osmeña is seen wearing dark glasses.
August 4, 1944. Adm. King and Gen. Marshall represent FDR (who was at Casablanca Conference) at Maine Memorial for internment of remains of Pres. Quezon pending return to the Philippines.
June 28, 1946: Pres. Quezon's remains are disinterred from Maine Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, to be returned to Philippines via DC-San Diego-Honolulu-Manila. Assoc. Justice Frank Murphy attends as rep. of Pres. Truman.
July 28, 1946: USS Princeton bearing the remains of Pres. Quezon, arrives in Manila. His children and wife, escorted by Pres. Roxas, ascend ship for necrological service in hangar of carrier.
July 28, 1946. Pres. Quezon's remains are lowered from the USS Princeton, and cortege to Malacañan Palace for overnight lying-in-state, begins. State Funeral was held on August 1, 1944, for internment until Quezon Monument was completed (transfer to monument was on Aug. 19, 1979)
