My column today looks at the veto of the Endo Act, and the PCSO operations shutdown as self-inflicted situations. Endo, because the bill wasn't supervised; PCSO because it got out of hand in a contest to be Lord of the Flies within its faction-ridden management.

And a postscript, information given only last night, so too late for the column:
post-postscript: The President restored Lotto draws last night. That makes for a turnaround of what, 72 hours from shutdown to restoration? Suggests the public impact was wide, deep, and fierce.
