Reverse AU with a twist: Connor’s father recently passed and left the family ranch in his name. He quits his job and moves from the city, determined to honor his wishes; Only he’s in way over his head. When he puts out a job posting, he doesn’t expect an android to apply...
Hank was certainly never built to be a ranch hand, but after the events of the revolution, he was left without a job and nowhere to go.

Connor has never been very comfortable around androids, but he’s open minded. Not like he has to befriend the guy or anything.
I’m thinking abt how Hank would struggle connecting w/ the animals initially. They mistrust him and he was built to work w/ humans. Overtime he builds a relationship with a horse (Sumo?) and Connor just watches in awe, brimming with pride... And then it hits him that he’s in love
(Yes Hank eventually starts wearing more appropriate attire including a cowboy hat)
I always hc my human Connors (well any Connor rly) as autistic so I imagine he worked with a therapy dog and had pets that he loved growing up. He's not great at most of this ranch stuff yet but he truly feels in tune with the animals and it makes Hank feel inadequate.
The link to animals feels like such a distinctly human thing, like they shouldn't trust a machine right? It's kinda what he and Connor start bonding over bc he craved that connection, so Connor teaches him in ways his database can't.
