I'm just going to say... we don't have to diagnose him to say this is not great. Stress and sleep deprivation can cause the same slips of tongue and lack of presence of mind and temporal regressions Joe Biden is showing, and being or running for president involves plenty of that.
A decade and a half ago, when my insomnia was the worst, I made the same kind of messy mistakes Joe Biden is making. I should not have been president then. He shouldn't be our candidate now.
And it's not just one malapropism. Donald Rumsfeld infamously (to conspiracy theorists) once said on TV that "we shot down" Flight 93 on 9/11, which they took to be confirmation that the whole official story was a hoax. That was a slip of the tongue.
President Obama once said, on the campaign trail, that he'd visited 57 states. He meant 47. Conspiracy theorists connected it to "Islamic States" and acted like it was super revealing.
A slip of the tongue here and there is normal and not super revelatory.

But Joe Biden... he's, like, punch drunk. I don't think he's got it. I'll take him over Trump, don't get me wrong. But even leaving politics aside, leaving specific policies aside, I don't think he can keep up with a whole country.
