A small story:

"How are Lottie and Perry?" people ask. They are delightful and only slightly carbonated every second of their lives. Having gone through their first round of shots, they have been old enough to go into the rescue and win the favor of humans to be adopted.
Apparently Perry and Lottie were unaware of their job. When I picked them up from the first open day at @SanteDOr, the report I received was less than glowing.

"They're getting adjusted," which is rescue-speak for "They sat in the back of their cage like damn weirdos."
"Next week will be better," I promised, as if I had any say over this.

The following week, Perry, the tuxedo was slightly less strange but Lottie the tabby still acted as if this was her first day out of the cult and the deprogramming hadn't done a bit of good.

The recent conflict over the general Licenses is the fourth phase of conflict often referred to as ‘The Grouse Wars’. Two of Wild Justice’s three directors, Mark Avery and Ruth Tingay, are inveterate grouse warriors. (1/13)

Superficially the grouse wars are the efforts by a relatively small number of activists to have Grouse shooting banned. They use other terms like, ‘licensed’ or ‘reformed’ but they mean banned. (2/13)

Alrighty - time to talk about mental toughness and emotional intelligence. I'll also talk about how to be a good teammate. All three of these were lessons that I've learned over the past three years, starting with my time playing for @SeattleSockeye .
This is a hard one for me and I've been pushing it off, at least sub-consciously, until now. I'll do my best to be honest and sincere. I'll also try to keep the typos to a minimum and keep things in chronological order. This'll probably be a long one. Good thing most are asleep!
On Monday I told my story up through the end of playing for @PrideofNY . In that thread I mentioned that I tore my [right] ACL. It was a complete tear (you can partially tear it) without any meniscus damage.
