When my Daddy was suicided in 1997, LAPD Officer told me over the phone, while they were at the scene responding to the initial 911 call, that he committed suicide. It is not uncommon for 1st Responders to make a determination previous to autopsy and toxicology.
Initial determination was inaccurate.
Toxicology showed he was full of his wife of 18 month’s prescription meds.
He had filled his new VW Van and BMW 7 Series w as much of his belongings as he could. He didn’t then decide next morning to “swan dive” off the 2nd story balcony.

My Daddy’s new wife’s adult son flew in from England and did the deed of sending him over the second story balcony.
He then left the scene the same morning and got on a flight at LAX and flew back to London.
