apropos of nothing I want to tell my wombat story; many years ago, my brother and I were visiting the Healsville Sanctuary near Melbourne, Australia. It's a zoo/ wildlife rehab facility. It's amazing and you should go if you get the chance.

They also have a wombat petting zoo of sorts, So my bro and I are looking at the wombat and he waddles over. We reach over the fence and start to pet him. My brother is petting his butt and I'm giving him a friendly behind the ear massage.

He starts twitching and snorting and wiggling about. I assume that I have magic wombat touching skills. At this point his keeper comes into his pen and he turns around, charges right at her and starts attacking her feet. She looks genuinely afraid and has to shove him away

with her foot. He finally gives up his attack and wanders off. The keeper is shaken, she tells us how that's never happened before and she doesn't know why he did that. We all shrug and move on, I ask some questions about wombat care and other curiosities.

Another couple joins us and the wombat approaches them and they reach over to pet him, the guy leans over and starts scratching the wombat behind the ear, just like I had done and the keeper says " don't do that, wombats hate having their ears touched"

My brother and I just look at each other and slid on over to the echidna enclosure.
And that's the story of how I enraged a wombat to the point of violence.
