ѧ It is wild how much of a trail Spinster's developer left of exactly why he made it a Gab fork before turning around and telling his users something completely different.
ѧ When Google Play rejected Gab's app from the app store, Gab's creator said: "Doesn't even matter. They can't stop us. We'll have hundreds of people submit forks." Spinster's developer reposted it. 
ѧ A few days later, Gab's founder: "The more [Gab Social] servers there are the more decentralized and unstoppable Gab becomes."

ѧ (This is also before Gleason's partner was supposedly fired for her anti-trans writing, which is what they've told their users was the inspiration for making Spinster.)
ѧ As Spinster was launching, Gleason was posting on Gab about how "a growing community of feminists" was being exposed to Gab.
ѧ And then their users start asking about it, and it's oh, we're a fork of Gab because it looks the nicest 😌
ѧ Meanwhile at the beginning of June, when Gab was banned by a Fediverse app for being a pit of Nazis, Gleason was reposting things about how Gab Social just needed to add a few extra features to start pushing people to move towards it to strengthen Gab.
ѧ and then when they submit the first of those many forks Torba said they would have people submit to the Play store, it's of course rejected, and we get this while Spinster's users get riled up about how they're being ever more persecuted
