If your response to hearing that white people need to let go of white power is to get mad, I invite you to examine what it is about giving up white power upsets you.

If it is because you think that it means whites will be oppressed, you’re telling on yourself.

If you’re mad that I told white propel to give up white power, you’re telling on yourself.

First of all, you’re basically admitting that you don’t want white people to be treated the same way y’all have treated black folks.

Secondly, you’re telling on yourself because you think that the racial status quo is fine and that you’re afraid of what black (or any other racialized power) would mean for you as a white person. Which means you should refer to the first way you’re telling on yourself.

Thirdly, you’re telling on yourself because you think that only one race can be in power, and if it’s not white people then...well, you can refer to the previous two ways in which you’re telling on yourself.

Finally, you’re telling on yourself because you think that there should be only one race in power and if there isn’t...well you can see the previous three tweets to get what I’m saying.

What if I told you that oppression doesn’t have to be the opposite of power? What if I told you that there doesn’t have to be a dominant racial group? What if I told you that power isn’t a zero sum game? What if I told you that power can be shared?
