DOJ's inspector general released its report on former FBI director James Comey's handling of the memos he wrote about his interactions with Trump.

Conclusion: He violated DOJ and FBI policies and his employment agreement. DOJ declined to press charges.

The release of OIG's report just make that official.
DOJ's inspector general had harsh words for how James Comey handled his memos detailing his convos with Trump: "Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees ... who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information" buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…

It's been nearly two years since a federal judge in NY dismissed this case, and more than a year since it was argued in the 2nd Circuit — it now puts a third emoluments clause case against Trump back in play (the other cases are at various stages before the 4th and DC Circuits)

@Comey The conclusion, which is all I've read so far is not flattering to Comey & says the report has been provided to OPR, the office that metes out discipline for ethics violations. More once I've had a chance to read it.
@Comey Based on the comments I'm seeing, important to clarify that the referral to OPR is NOT a referral to prosecution. Still reading, but the report seems to conclude no criminal violations. No prosecution. It's a lot to read, but this looks like the baseline.
