My college dorm permitted smoking and drinking so I'm gonna have to say today's version is a downgrade theatlantic.com/education/arch…
Folks don't smoke or drink, obviously. Also stay in school. Also there's no hope with dope.
One downside to my dorm: ppl kept pulling the fire alarm in the middle of the night. Also the school would fine kids if we didn't exit the building in the event of a real, but *very minor,* fire. Obnoxious.

That happened less after the retaliatory firetruck theft.
We didn't need the nanny state being like "here's what you *need* to do in the event of a fire in the building."

Like, you want us to *stop* setting pizza boxes on fire in the trashcan? For what purpose? This is helicopter parenting, and we went to college to get away from it.
I see ppl are confused by several references to unseemly behavior in this thread. Let me clear up all the confusion: New Jersey.

Couple more observations.

The relationship between Jews and New York has been irreparably damaged. The most likely scenario is that the city doesn’t really do much and Jews are shown they’ll always be The Other, that even in America they have limited rights and protections.
The other, less likely scenario is that the city steps in to protect the Jews, proving they could have done so all along and would in general prefer not to. Additionally, it shows the Jews to always be at the mercy of the govt’s whims. That they’re subjects, not citizens.
And it gets worse. NYC has the ability to stop this, it’s just choosing not to. But this also means that the major American Jewish organizations are essentially powerless. “What do you expect us to do?” is a cry of defeat. If there’s nothing you can do then disband. Worthless.

Pride month has ended and this 4th of July almost feels like a liberation from the barrage of pozzed propaganda we have had to endure from the Cathedral throughout June.

So let’s celebrate with some white pills for once: the difficulties faced by universities in America!
You have to understand if you don’t already that universities & higher ed are your enemy. Lots of boomers are going to have strong emotional attachments to the idea of higher education as a benefit, but the role of universities changed from education to sedition a long time ago.
Universities are today’s testing grounds & Petri dishes for tomorrow’s sociological experiments. The insanity of safe spaces, enforced globohomo, deplatforming, nannying, LGBTQWERTY, mattress girls and all other Clownworld ills starts on campus then spreads outside like AIDS.

Today's @bopinion post is a case against the absolutist idea of free college, but it's also a defense of a lot of the policies that are now being called "free college".

So, let's look at some of the details of what "free college" might mean.

Suppose you tried to make college free just by subsidizing it.

Well, that wouldn't turn out too well. Colleges would just raise the price! Just like they did when we offered everyone cheap student loans.
But if you do price controls, you could very quickly end up reducing quality, especially at top state schools.

3/ DeVos genuinely believes that school choice will create better options for students. Like Gov Snyder, Mayor Dugan, and the emergency managers of DPS, DeVos believes that with choice and the ability to move with one’s feet, students will have a better access to quality Schools.
