1. There is so much to dislike about the “Tiffany Trump story.” But can I please key in on one thing I found especially horrific & thoroughly enlightening of the soul of Donald Trump? The @nytimes ran a story about how Madeleine Westerhout, the 28-year-old . . .
2. former fitness trainer and, until recently, Director of Oval Office Operations (really?), shared something Trump said about his daughter that was horrible and hurtful. Trump said that he didn’t want to be photographed with his daughter Tiffany because she’s overweight . . .
3. Horrible, right? But you know what’s far worse? The day after the story ran, reporters asked Trump about it. He said he loved Tiffany. When a reporter followed up and asked, “have you spoken to Tiffany about it?” Trump, apparently caught off guard, responded . . .
4. “I’m going to call her when I get to Camp David.” Trump did not even have the parental instinct or the plain old human decency to reach out to his own daughter and talk to her about what had been published in the New York Times the day before. . . .
5. Didn’t call to apologize to his daughter, didn’t call to console his daughter, didn’t call to reassure his daughter of his love for her. After it was revealed publicly that he doesn’t want to be in photos with Tiffany because he thinks she’s overweight . . .
6. HE DID NOT BOTHER CALLING OR TALKING TO HIS DAUGHTER. More than putting other peoples’ kids in cages, more than loving murderous dictators, more than playing golf while people struggle to survive hurricanes, this exposes the soul of Donald Trump. He has none.
