Understanding Prayer.

Some of you don't understand the place of prayer.
You try to use prayer for what prayer was not designed for.

Jesus said in Luke 18:1, you ought to pray always and not faint.

This means prayer is very important.
You have to learn how to use it wisely./1

Jesus never prayed for money.
Not once.
He never asked for miracle money.
The times that he needed money, he told Peter to work for it.
He gave Peter specific instructions and when Peter followed them, he got the money they needed./2

Thousands of people pray for money but it never works.
Prayer is not wrong but praying for money is wrong.
You do not pray for money directly and get it.
You can pray for ideas.
You can pray for direction.
You can ask for wisdom.
But, you have to DO SOMETHING to get money./3

When you engage in prayer, you have an audience with the Lord.
Prayer is a conversation, a discussion with God.
It is rubbing your intellect with the mind of God.

You tell Him what you need.
He tells you what He needs you to DO to get what you need.

The mistake millions of people make is that they expect God to do for them what they have been given the power and authority to do.
In Genesis 1:26-28, God gave man dominion on earth.

This means every human being on earth, sinner or saint, can exercise this dominion./5

Many of you wonder why sinners and morally bankrupt people are rich. The answer is in Genesis.
Every man and woman on the planet can exercise dominion.
They can apply themselves and become rich.
It is their divine right.
It has nothing to do with religion./6

So what is the place of prayer in all this?
Prayer helps you position yourself in the will of God for your life.
Through prayer you find your path in life.
It is in the place of prayer that God gives you INSTRUCTIONS: shows you what to DO, where to GO, who to connect with./7

It is in the place of prayer that the plans of your enemies are exposed and crushed.
It is in the place of prayer that you receive God's agenda for your own life.

In Genesis 26, Isaac PRAYED and asked God for direction. God told him what to do.
He obeyed.
He prospered./8

There are SECRETS, ideas, that God wants to reveal to you in the place of prayer.

George Washington Carver was a scientist, Christian and a man of prayer.
God revealed to him the secret of the groundnut.
He discovered 250 uses for the groundnut and changed the world./9

Learn to pray strategically.
Ask lots of questions.
God will give you answers.

After you receive instructions in the place of prayer, move immediately into action.
Make sure you do your part.
And God will do His own part.
This is the secret to success./10
