What exactly are they doing in there? If Johnson was going to threaten a motion for an election why not do it at the podium?
Instead they briefed the threat, he made a statement being all coy, and then afterwards they briefed the details he'd been expected to say in the speech. Looks chaotic.
Johnson also in a hard place on messaging. He's now committed to a narrative of going for a deal (however real that is). This means Farage committed to run against him. Can't neutralise Brexit Party.
