Even if the First Steps Act were to work perfectly, it is just that, a small first step. To characterize it as getting criminal justice reform done is woefully ignorant in the face of all of the work that remains.
Fortunately, @KamalaHarris is more than willing to help Trump understand how much work is left to do before anyone can claim victory on criminal justice reform.
This thread from @Sifill_LDF - more context & understanding. Real reform will involve fed’l, state & local level work on prevention, enforcement & reentry. It will be a lot of hard work. It is imperative that we do it.
