We wrote: there is no legitimate reason to rush a confirmation vote. Confirming Kavanaugh under the current circumstances would undermine both his legitimacy & the integrity of the Supreme Court. Before a lifetime appointment, the FBI must have time to investigate this allegation

Acting DNI McGuire, who has refused to turn the whistleblower complaint over to House Intel, which he appears to be required to do, will testify Thursday. Trump had interactions with leaders including Putin & KJU in the relevant time frame, but no word on who this involves.

1/2 This is why Congress must review what constraints were placed on the FBI. No one’s good name should be treated unfairly but the truth about nominees must be uncovered. A credible witness who recalls a newly reported incident wasn’t interviewed, nor... latimes.com/politics/story…
2/2 was the woman involved, who says she has no memory of it. More than a dozen potential witnesses weren’t contacted either. Time constraints are one thing, kneecapping an investigation into a life tenured SCOTUS Justice is unacceptable & should have been to him, as well.
Important to note: the witness says the woman may have been too inebriated at the time to recall the incident. This is precisely the type of thing trained investigators look at, using all available witnesses. So, again, the question is, who directed the FBI to stand down?

NYT Justice reporter says former FBI Acting Director McCabe has been advised he’ll be indicted. DOJ just lost a trial involving similar charges against former WH Counsel Greg Craig.
Of course, prosecutors still need a grand jury vote in favor of indictment. That is usually a foregone conclusion, as prosecutors need only present probable cause to obtain one (although it's unwise to do so without the proof beyond a reasonable doubt necessary to convict).
Wow! @adamgoldmanNYT suggests there isn't an indictment yet, despite DOJ's rejection of McCabe's appeal to the DAG, because the grand jury declined to do so. That doesn't happen often & when it does, it's a signal prosecutors shouldn't ignore.

By raging he's being framed by a Clinton revenge plot conspiracy, Kavanaugh echoed Trump propagandists discrediting Mueller & Russia probe. That in itself is disqualifying from sitting on the Supreme Court. It also proves he won't be an impartial arbiter on those & other matters.
Forget the alleged sexual assault & lies for a moment. Kavanaugh's partisan rant about a left-wing smear conspiracy is so off-the-rails improper for someone whose job is literally to DISPASSIONATELY & fairly interpret facts & law before him. And he wants a promotion to SCOTUS??
Maybe #Kavanaugh's not a conspiracy theorist. But he is consciously echoing Trump. He altered strategy from choir-boy Fox interview b/c Trump didn't like it. Kav's already bending to the executive who named him, like the political operative he is at heart. And will be on SCOTUS.
