1. @nytimes story is not clear about what the Trump hotel is charging as an average rate.

First, IMO Emoluments clauses are clear no state law or common law doctrine can legally vest money in a sitting president unless Congress specifically permits it. So all the money is
2. US govt property and IMO the @Trump family is embezzling US property in violation of US law. The cash never vests so in 2021 when @TheJusticeDept not under the control of the Kirkland & Ellis RICO we can seize Trump family assets to pay the Donald's tab.
3. Second, if the Trump property has a low corporate rate that is given in every instance to govt travelers then the conduct (emolument violations notwithstanding) could likely be proper. But the article says, "Those who did stay there paid a discounted rate of as
4. little as $130 a night, compared to a typical price of about $380 a night." So "as little as #130 a night" could mean one guest got the rate. The @nytimes should avoid such sloppy journalism that makes it appear they seek to to curry favor with Trump. In any event, the
5. comment that the Trump's are only charging "costs' is a significant tell and IMO shows Trump family knows they may have walked their organization into even greater insolvency than they would be experiencing had they not done the emoluments violations.
6. So this is where @TheDemocrats need to move in to take them out and paint the Donald Trump and the @SenateGOP as a swarming mass of fetid swamp creatures. @HouseJudiciary
@TheDemocrats @SenateGOP @HouseJudiciary 7. Appears the 2nd Cir. Court of Appeals agrees with my analysis of the Emoluments Clause. From today's opinion at page 58:

"The prohibition stated in the constitutional text renders the President’s receipt of 'emoluments' unlawful, unless Congress consents to it." 😎@maddow
