This is the wrong tact to take. We aren’t taking anything away from anyone. We will legislate reasonable gun control measures. What many ppl don’t understand is that they’re millions of law abiding gun owners that hunt, target practice, and use firearms for home defense. 1/
These are all reasonable uses for firearms. The problem has more to do with magazine capacity. There is zero reason a civilian needs a 30+ round magazine. Further, we need to define what an assault or weapon of war is. A .22 semi auto rimfire isn’t an assault weapon. 2/
Beto’s statement sounds great to the base but to gun owning swing voters, this sounds like the beginnings of mass confiscation. Most of these voters are in swing states where we need the EC votes to win. That’s the only game in town. Hillary won the popular vote yet Trump 3/
is POTUS. We need to win the game we’re playing and not pretend the rules are more to our liking or different. That’s a recipe for 4 more years of Trump. There are plenty of Democrats who own guns. Keep that in mind too. X
