This is the article that I wish I had written, and have been skirting around for a few months now.

Really Excellent job @sclavennaGTM 👏👏👏

Our platform is built around the 3 pillars mentioned
1) visibility
2) dynamic px signals
3) rules
👇
“Blockchain thrives in systems with many intersections and many participants... in a complex energy system many of the intersections are among subsystems, where value is found in the secure exchange of data, the registering of assets... or the trusted recording of [metered] data”
Back to the three pillars
1) visibility- @sclavennaGTM, these trials too are underway, and demonstrating data orchestration. Check out project RecorDER with @ng_eso @UKPNnews @SPEnergyNetwork, the UK is forwards on thinking about open data here
2) “dynamic value based pricing”- I prefer px signals: it sounds more like a communication vs something centrally set.
These signals will (must) be trailed in many different models all over the world- on and off Bchain. We will launch our first commercial one end of year 👀👀🤞
Finally, most interestingly I think...
3) Rules
These are what define & protect our industry. They also hold it back because. They invisible, not dynamic, increasingly unfit. This tech is a visible, shared protocol (rule-set) that is mutually enforced...
It also allows us to see those rules and define their relationship.
One area @ElectronDLT is particularly focussed on is how those rules relate to value stacking/ trading multiple flex products at once. A very simple example for our first 2 markets: capacity and curtailment:
E.g. If assetY has a capacity obligation in period X, Y cannot trade into curtailment (be paid not to generate) or must trade out of curtailment.
As these markets mature, traders can build contingent “if and” rules around these.
Many better examples will come with new markets
This will force us to look at exclusivity rules around flexibility products again.

We want to build a world in which a single batter can
*Balance @ national lvl
*constraint relief @ local lvl
*power to retailer/ community

In the same time period
Only in this world can we solve for “whole system value”, and pay distributed flexible resources the full value that they represent to the grid.

You don’t get to a world of majority wind/solar generation without this.

(This is my first tweet storm, feedback appreciated 🤓😬)
