A reminder that Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who gave up her life as she knew it to warn us about Kavanaugh, is still harassed and smeared daily, and her family continues to live under under threat, protected by private security that she will probably need for decades.
Imagine the number of women with fewer resources who will never come forward. This is the lesson. You will never be vindicated, even when you are. There will always be people who want to end your life for telling the truth about what a powerful man did to you.
And yet, people had the nerve to ask why she didn’t want her name revealed. They questioned her credibility because of it. Said it was a political scam.

You will be a martyr or you will shut the fuck up and do your best to forget the laughter.
Victims deserve better. Women deserve better. These are two separate issues that both need to be addressed.

Why do this? Because society treats vaginas, vulvas, and the clitoris as taboo. Children are taught substitute terms, and society uses vaginal pseudonyms with a range of moral connotation. The effect is that talking about vaginas, and having one, feels embarrassing or shameful.
That’s not ok. Vaginas are amazing and essential to own and/or love. This is a weekly opportunity for people of all genders to ask questions, share stories and express your vaginappreciation 💋

The kit is not admissible in court, but — victims’ fear and shame often prevents them from reporting their assault at a hospital, and rape is common enough to create demand, so rather than do anything to address those things, why not sell do your own useless rape kits instead.
This product basically tricks victims into forfeiting their opportunity for collection of admissible evidence. Imagine surviving one of the worst violations imaginable only to be told that your best chance of ever seeing justice is gone. You might pass your rapist on the street.
Imagine reporting your assault and submitting your DIY kit, only to be told it’s not enough, and your rapist telling everyone around you that it’s proof you lied.

Christine Blasey Ford was an even bigger hero than you know.

Please share this. The world deserves to know her story.
2/ Dr. Ford had never even told her husband about #Kavanaugh’s sexual assault.

They were remodeling their house, and Dr. Ford insisted on building a SECOND FRONT DOOR so she would feel safe. Her husband thought this was ridiculous, so she told him through a therapist.
3/ She was beyond terrified of speaking up, but felt a deep civic duty to this country to tell the Senators voting her experience.

She did not sleep for TWO DAYS before sending this message to @SenFeinstein. She was desperately hoping the Senator would keep her name out of it.

Something very important is happening. Since Dr. Christine Blasey Ford so bravely came forward to tell her story of assault at the hands of Brett #Kavanaugh, many #RhodeIsland women have written me to share their own personal stories of survival.
I get mail every day about the various policies debated in Congress. But I have never had mail like this. This is bigger than the fight over a court nomination.
I’ve heard from women of different ages and backgrounds, some who have held their secrets for years. Those I quote have given me permission, even encouraged me, to share their words. For privacy, their names and other identifying information has been removed.

1) First the obvious. Dr. Christine Ford has 3rd party documentation dating from 2012. It doesn’t name Kavanaugh, but it names the circumstances. She’s got the receipts, baby!
2) Second, she has already taken a polygraph test. Has #Kavanaugh taken a polygraph test? No. And considering the number of times he has already been found to lie under oath, he probably should have!
