Look at this now characteristically normal/common level of attack against HK police and remind yourself;

- unrest has been going on for 3+ months
- 1/3 of the arrests in 3x the time of Occupy Wall Street
- all police approved to carry batons only 6 days ago
- 0 deaths

#HongKong
I repeat, the police have not killed a single person this whole time...and this is what they're dealing with.

Well... We had a good run, but it was bound to happen eventually.

RIP

Reaching for an officer's gun while giving him a beatdown, and nearby officers run to disburse them with only batons. This would almost certainly be a dead protestor anywhere else.

This is an older one,but I want to turn this thread into an archive of force used against police, because we're seeing history made. The level of restraint we see from police in these kinds of circumstances has never been seen anywhere before. The opposite of how they're reported
This officer had his bottom teeth knocked out by a slingshot steel ball. It's suspected by some that the girl who "lost" her eye was actually also hit by one of these that missed it's target. However, she refuses to cooperate with an investigate or release her medical records
Police under fire from bricks & other projectiles. An example of a civilian being hit by a projectile also. There was someone hit in the back of the head with a slingshot steel steel ball before, and it was one of their own hit (setting a precedent for "Eye Girl" to be one also)
In this airport incident, this officer was receiving a mob beatdown, his gun was drawn but no shots fired.
Officer down here. Multiple officers are trying to protect his body here. They HAVE guns on them, didn't immediately use them, and when they did, it was only to fire warning shots in the air!
Police trying to save someone while being hit with bricks and being advanced on. Police have guns, they were not used.
Police being firebombed.
In a separate incident an officer was treated for burns on his body.
Even foreigners living in HK know VERY well, when it comes to police, the sh*t you can get away with is beyond comical. I'm willing to bet he wouldn't try this back home. More impressive how patient the police are, is how media can paint them as brutal

100+ days. No casualties. Impossible elsewhere. HK police have guns but have been relying on less lethal options. The same options the US seek to take away. Almost like they & protestors are begging for an escalation purposed martyr. A for effort though

The 20 second mark, when he pulled his hand out of his pocket, is the moment he would have been shot in many other countries. He got triple the time, and wasn't shot.

I wonder what would happen if someone threw petroleum bombs into a police station in any other place on earth.

Local historian and pop star @hoccgoomusic once said they never had to fight for freedom before 1997, because they enjoyed British built pillars of free speech under their rule. This is how the British dealt with petrol bombs.
First protester shot with live rounds. Apparently an officer has also died after working 18 hours every day, but will wait for more verification before posting as fact.
Additional angle of shooting shown in last post.
Second protester shot. Live ammunition in full use now.
Correction, last video no protester was shot, only warning shots were fired. Police were injured though.

Apologies, I'm sending these as they become available and are subject to updates.
Here are some of the weapons used by the crowd that ambushed the officer who used his gun. The guy in the last photo who's using the metal rod to beat the officer was the one who was shot.
Protesters are saying the officer who shot them rushed towards them. The armed officer was actually trying to help a fellow officer on the ground who was being hit by heavy tools by a mob.
Updates. Previously I suggested there was one brave protester who stayed behind with his shot friend. Might have to retract, looks like he was trying to clear the weapon. Might have "only" been a PVC pipe. PVC pipes have been used to beat people to death/fracture bones elsewhere
A police officer was severely burnt with acid by demonstrators in Tuen Mun yesterday. No demonstrators were shot.
Here is an example of how quickly this acid burns through clothing.

Shots fired tonight. An undercover officer was being beaten, then fire bombed. After he reoriented himself, he realized that someone was trying to grab his dropped gun and reacted quickly. He was then fire bombed a second time. The protesters wanted this guy dead, literally.
