NFL Athletes Who Went Vegan: A Thread
The first player I remember adopting a vegan diet was Arian Foster in July of 2012.

This was from the ESPN article covering the story:

Arian Foster was fine in 2012. He hit 1,641 scrimmage yards after reaching 1,841 scrimmage yards in 2011 and 2,220 in 2010.

And then:

2013: 8 games played
2014: 13 games played
2015: 4 games played
2016: 4 games played
2017: out of the league
Cam Newton adopted a vegan diet this offseason.

He was diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain in preseason, and then:

Week 1: 8.4 fantasy points, 72.1 passer rating, -2 rushing yards

Week 2: 13.3 fantasy points, 70.1 passer rating, 0 rushing yards

Week 3: Status Uncertain
Aaron Rodgers adopted a vegan diet (80% vegan) heading into the 2016 season.

Depth-Adjusted Completion Percentage

2008-2015: 1st of 64 qualifiers (+4.9%)
2016-2018: 16th of 38 qualifiers (+1.5%)
Colin Kaepernick adopted a vegan diet sometime before the 2016 season.

From 2015-2016, he was PFF's worst-graded quarterback (of 37 qualifiers). He graded worse than Blaine Gabbert and went 3-16 with the 49ers (Gabbert went 4-9 with the team).

By 2017 he was out of the league.
Demaryius Thomas adopted a vegan diet in 2017.

That season he dropped down to 212 pounds (from 228).

Now he’s on his fourth team in two years.
Tom Brady has adopted a mostly vegan diet (80%), and has seen little dropoff in play.

But then again GOATs *are* ruminant animals.
David Johnson went vegan for three weeks in 2017
