Today in America, > 18 million families pay more than half their income to housing.

Virtually nowhere can a full-time minimum wage worker afford a decent 2 bedroom apt.

Corrupt real estate developers are fueling gentrification.

Bernie's doing something abt it #HousingforAll

Meanwhile, Trump is trying to cut the National Housing Trust Fund, which was based on legislation BERNIE spearheaded in Congress.

Trump wants to cut federal housing programs by $9.6 billion, or 18%.

We're not going to let that happen. #housingforall

There's currently a 7.4 million home shortage for the lowest-income renters.

Nearly half of renters impacted are seniors or persons w/ disabilities.

Wages have stagnated, but housing prices have gone up 188 percent over the past 30 years.

This can't continue. #housingforall

#HousingForAll will:

☑️Invest $1.48 over 10 years to build/rehabilitate homes and CLOSE THE HOUSING GAP

(Every other plan out there leaves it open)

☑️Take on segregation by investing $400 billion to mixed-income social housing units

☑️Revitalize our crumbling public housing

☑️FULLY FUND Section 8

☑️Establish a 🎇national rent control standard🎇

☑️Outfit public housing w/ high-speed broadband💫

☑️Electrify & 🌺decarbonize🌺 all public housing

☑️Ensure public housing has high-quality, shared community spaces 🏘️🏠🌳

We will PROTECT TENANTS:

☑️ Expanding the right to counsel in NY dropped eviction rates 5X faster than comparable areas.

We must expand the right to counsel to keep landlords from bullying tenants who don't have the time or resources to fight back. 🥊🥊🥊

@ceaweaver @ggiii ☑️We're going to enact a NATIONAL CAP on annual rent increases -- no more than 3% or 1.5X the Consumer Price Index (whichever is higher).

☑️And landlords (like Trump 😂) will need to show "just cause" b4 evicting you. No more arbitrary or retaliatory evictions.

☑️Restrictive zoning ordinances are a racist legacy of Jim Crow segregation. If you want federal housing & transportation funds? You gotta nix them.

☑️Pass the Equality Act to include LGBTQ+ Americans

☑️Ensure access by enforcing the ADA

@ceaweaver @ggiii You should just read this predatory Lending/Redlining section. Black Americanas lost 40% of our wealth in the '09 housing crisis. We bailed out Wall St. Now it's our turn.
