Jurian is such an asshole. And saying the war is over her is completely reductive.

I might be reading too much into this because I love my Trash Beast High Lord but everything Tam did about Rhys prior to Feyre makes me think he felt enormous guilt over what happened to Rhys' family

Like he knows he messed up and what Rhys did as retaliation, Tam considered them even? Because he was very nonchalant about revealing what happened to his family and never went after Rhys.

So Tam doesn't consider Rhys an enemy but Rhys does.

Stupid High Lords. I swear you're the same.

Also, I was really missing Alis!

Something interesting to note is how those two *really* know Feyre and see right through her.

Feyre thinks she's being slick and they're like, "Lol please".

Not to say she's not a good spy or actress, I think she's not used to people actually caring or noticing her in some ways.

I really hope she's thawing toward Lucien.

This chapter made me tear up because Lucien doesn't deserve any of this.

I hate Ianthe even more

So much of this game is proving my point that Feyre is not a cruel person. She has anger and it's fueling her for sure but it's like she remembers that everyone she's mad at is also screwed.

Omg Summer Solstice.

Yes, that was a perfect way to screw with Ianthe.

But please, stop being so hard on Tamlin!

He really is trying.

But also, I get it.

The fact that her problems were being ignored wasn't great but I think she needs to show some sympathy as they *all* went through a traumatic event.

There SJM goes again. Taking a character I loathed and making him into something else.

(I still don't *love* Jurian, but he was really good this chapter and has also been through an awful lot so maybe I shouldn't be too harsh)

Then again, maybe this is to lull us into false hope.

Feyre should definitely remain on edge around him but he's in a shitty situation too.

Finally, we got a mini-Feyre and Lucien team-up and I WAS PUMPED.

Oh wait.

I think SJM is trying to do a parallel of a previous event..

I should have put this together sooner but I think knowing something that happens at the end of this book was causing a block in my brain.

Also, it *kinda* works but also doesn't? Like we have a way better grasp of this triangle than the other one.

And I have trouble putting a certain character in that particular role.

Because there is way more to him.

Ugh these books

What's interesting about Jurian is that he knows Rhys so well.

Better than Feyre.

And Tam probably knows Rhys' true personality too but is being too stubborn to admit it.

Though it has been a blast seeing Feyre mess with her.

But the ending of this chapter was not good for Tamlin.

Since this series has been like massively stressful, I was so worried about this book.

I am fist pumping with joy every night because she is so good at being devious!

This one line brought such a smile to my face all day

Okay, that is not how I wanted this situation to end but I'll absolutely take it.

And she's so close to reuniting with my other babies! (And maybe bringing a precious bb along?)

WHY IS AUTUMN COURT SO AWFUL?

I brought this with me to an event I'll be writing about for the blog so I'm gonna be vague. BUT it required me to the read in front of other people and I honestly haven't done that AT ALL with this series

At first, it wasn't so bad. Because it was mostly action stuff but then Rhys appears and it turned to smut SO FAST.

I MISSED THE INNER CIRCLE SO MUCH!

Glad to see at least ONE PERSON is like, "YEAH BUT HE DRUGGED YOU, REMEMBER?"

I feel like a Hufflepuff because of how much I want all these babies to be friends.

(Full disclosure: I got Hufflepuff on *one* sorting quiz years ago. Every other one gives me Ravenclaw.)

Lucien now knows Rhys' true self!

I feel like he's finally safe from harm!

And then sister time.

The whole dynamic is so screwed up. Older and younger sisters do not treat the middle one that way AT ALL!

Back to the Prison and talking to the Bone Carver...who I no longer trust since he clearly lied about *spoiler* and how he could come back to life.

And I knew that's who Feyre was seeing the first time she talked to him but not to that extent.

The Bone Carver is cold.

And we learned some stuff about Nesta? Still doesn't change much about my feelings toward her though.

SJM is good at making terrible characters somewhat not. It's like she can't be bothered with Nesta and it makes me mad

What's that Feyre? It felt good telling someone about your nightmares? Huh, never would have guessed.

I realized that I also don't really like Amren but she's still an easier character to tolerate than Nesta.

So I don't know if I like their alliance

I liked this chapter because I thought it would be an immediate shift to the Court of Nightmares but instead we got...all that

Starting with sister time!

I still feel very bad about Elain. But also argh because nope, that's not how things work.

I may be too hard on Nesta but the thing is, her character was always awful even before all this.

Feyre may have forgiven her somewhat but she really makes things difficult for EVERYONE and needs to maybe grow up.

This was not the Court of Nightmares experience I wanted.

I'm upset on Mor's behalf. I can't tell if Az knew or not (damn his shadowy personality!).

AND WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR LUCIEN?!?

But I want to know why he thought this idea was okay because of how it would affect Mor.

While reflecting more on the previous chapter, I get it now.

But what Rhys did was super shitty to Mor and I really hope she gives him hell (and Feyre helps because she was in the dark too)

Like forcing Mor to work with two of her abusers AND give up her special place?! Not okay.

Mor does not deserve that!

But then, SJM does it again.

Turns out *spoiler* isn't actually that much of a bad guy either? She swerves everyone to the point that it's hard to really hate anyone!

(Exceptions being King of Hybern, Ianthe, Keir, and Beron)

Now Lucien has to back up his story. And we have to see if he agrees with the plan.

I was debating ranking my favorite characters and couldn't decide if it was

1. Feyre
2. Lucien
3. Mor

Or if they're in a three-way tie for 1st

I'm very mad at Rhys right now.

But it further proves my point that the High Lords SUCKKKKKKK

This is what I find interesting:

Fandom gives Rhys a pass even though he does questionable things to protect those he loves.

Another character gets called a tool for doing the same thing.

I am not defending Trash Beast High Lord's actions but you have to see that he and Rhys have the same motives if you remove Feyre from the equation.

Let's abolish the High Lord system because they all suck and make terrible decisions that are designed to protect those they love but wind up hurting the same people.

What it boils down to, I think, is that fandom has decided Rhys is perfect.

Rhys is NOT perfect. No one in these books is and that's why I think I'm connecting with them so much.

I love Rhys but that boy is a MESS.

I think the Inner Circle is safe for now but jeez. Rhys, you need to make better decisions.

Lucien is uneasy about *spoiler* so I'm curious to see how that turns out.

Do I now like Cassian more than Azriel? Because I might have been too hard on him at the beginning.

(The fact that he's like "Go Feyre! Keep training on your own even though you're hurting yourself!" makes me laugh and that's why I omitted him from my fake dialogue about the situation)

Learned more about Amren and still on edge about her. I can't get a good enough read.

The ACOTAR series: Come for the Beauty and the Beast retelling and romance, stay because all the characters and relationships are super complex and deserve to be pored over constantly.

At least that's what this series is to me.

Does this mean that Nesta is technically more powerful than Feyre?

Maybe Feyre is a Ravenclaw because she comes up with some decent plans.

Her plans are also dumb as shit and can kill her (Gryffindor!) but almost always solid.

Feyre and Lucien are my favorite set of friends.

Yeah yeah the romance is great but the friendships are probably the best part in this series.

I have officially hit the halfway mark and it's battle time.

I don't think this battle will last very long but it's still stressful!

Feyre, I know you can do this.

But I really am confused that Summer Court was keeping in touch with Night Court.

Like you all just ignore Tarquin?

*Tarquin sends threat to Night Court after really enjoying their company and initially wanting to be friends*

Cresseida and Varian (who were very suspicious of Night Court the whole time): "We should definitely hear them out and remain as friendly as possible."

In hindsight, this is actually a great plan for C&V, but it doesn't really make sense in the text.

Rhys is good at manipulating and flirting so I guess that helped C.

But Varian was terrified of Amren! Why would that communication option be open?

Feyre is killing it in her first real battle.

But like Rhys...

For the love of the Cauldron, TAMLIN IS NOT THE ENEMY.

I refuse to believe he'd actually hurt Feyre for what she did, especially since his actions caused it.

And he can always blame Rhys for her actions.

FOCUS ON HYBERN. Hybern is manipulating Tamlin.

I don't think Tarquin belongs on the grudge list because they deserve his wrath but still.

Tarquin would hurt Feyre, so be more on edge about him than Tam guys

The Archerons are such an interesting character study.

One thing I have not really mentioned is how SJM's descriptions of all the clothes is to die for!

Seriously. Feyre's Starfall dress 😍

And I was right, but a chapter off!

Please start redeeming this character.

Also, I swear someone is gonna randomly appear and I'm going to be happy but everyone else will not.

(He needs to be there but omg the ~DRAMA~. I don't know how I'm gonna handle it.)

Eeeeee! This chapter was delightful and it's hilarious because this might be one of the last delightful chapters!

Viviane is GREAT! More of her and Mor hanging out please!

I also love that SJM has two canon queer couples in the books. They're not major characters but you don't always see that in YA fantasy books.

And one of them is a High Lord!

I do hate that they keep throwing Tamlin in when discussing what happened to her sisters.

He was tricked by Hybern! That wasn't entirely his fault! It was 100% Ianthe's! She admitted it too!

That being said, I was correct about SOMEONE showing up and causing ~DRAMA~!

WHAT IS HE GONNA DOOOOOOOO

Rhys is still #1 drama queen in Prythian.

However, you know damn well that SOMEONE was taking inspiration from Rhys to piss him off further and I LOVE IT

As always, did some thinking on my run and realized something.

There is a quote in ACOMAF that made me cry because it's one of my biggest fears. And it helped Feyre figure out her relationship with Tamlin.

The quote can also fit Tamlin and how he viewed his relationship with Feyre.

I really don't know if it was intentional or not but the three members of the "triangle" are very much the same. And it's so interesting to me.

Tamlin is such a lonely character.

It makes me sad that fandom hates him.

Something important to note is that they have all done terrible things.

None of them are innocent.

And that's what makes them all so compelling.

It's mostly Tam's though and I'm really not absolving him.

But when you look at everything, Tamlin lost the most. Again.
