This is truly awful and while it's not the only or even major solution, please consider making your yard/neighborhood more bird friendly, food and water, bells on cats, plantings that help them nest, and helping with habitat restoration: nytimes.com/2019/09/19/sci…
In the last year I've been putting out feeders and water, and planting bird and pollinator natives and it is amazing the diversity of birds and critters that have shown up. 20+ species of birds alone in a 20x30 backyard!

Dear cat owners, they are captivating creatures, but they kill a BILLION birds a year. Think about how you can curb your cat's carnage while still letting her enjoy life. (Also this hilariously 2011 video we made)
