A #nononoyes thread with a few facts about the state of Victoria before today's #ClimateStrike #springst

1. Victoria’s three brown coal power stations burn around a million tonnes of coal per week, that's more than the proposed Adani mine will produce.
2. Victoria’s Yallourn power station is Australia’s dirtiest and most polluting coal-fired power station, which is slated to remain open for another 13 years.
3. Even with the state government's 50% renewable energy target Victoria’s energy sector will still produce 33.9 million tonnes of carbon pollution in 2030.
4. There's still hope! The Victorian Greens will move an amendment to the state government’s Renewable Energy Bill to increase Victoria’s renewable energy target to 100% renewable energy by 2030.
