Trump brought up his request for President Zelensky to investigate Biden EIGHT TIMES. 
I was speculating that all Trump needed to do on the phone call with Zelensky was to mention, "Oh hey, my lawyer Giuliani might be available to chat with you more about this," but no, even something as overtly dirty as that was too subtle for Trump.
Why would the President tell a foreign leader to "work with" his personal attorney, by meeting with him outside of any oversight by the State Department, to initiate a prosecution against the President's political opponent?

Look, the White House is going to try, probably successfully, to shift the debate to whether or not there was a "quid pro quo" arrangement with Zelensky. But let's be clear: that doesn't matter at all, Trump's phone call with Zelensky by itself is an authoritarian abuse of power.
Trump has spent the last two and half years complaining about wholly fictional abuses of power by the Obama administration during the 2016 election. But even those fabricated claims of misconduct pale in comparison to what Trump is doing here.
Giuliani isn't a government employee. He isn't a diplomat. The ONLY reason Zelensky would send a top aide to meet with him is that Zelensky knew damned well Giuliani's real purpose was to speak on Trump's behalf in a way that could be kept secret from Trump's own government.
"I understand that there may be many people listening from various U.S. agencies, which is why when I have phone calls with foreign leaders I tell them to meet in secret with my personal attorney."
