In which Senator Thom Tillis refers to himself as "someone who had to overcome dark money spending records in 2014."

(Tillis won his 2014 election with at least about $15 million in *support* from dark money groups) starnewsonline.com/opinion/201909…
There was so much dark money supporting Thom Tillis that the third biggest dark money group in the race was entirely funded by the second biggest dark money group. Together, they spent more than $8 million for Tillis opensecrets.org/news/2015/11/p…
The latter of the two groups was run by GOP political operative Dallas Woodhouse out of a PO Box in a Raleigh strip mall. It never did any social welfare or hired any permanent employees—just spent millions of dollars supporting Tillis' successful campaign opensecrets.org/news/2015/10/p…
Woodhouse dropped all pretense that his "social welfare" organization was anything but a political organization using nonprofit status as a shield for donor disclosure when he went on live TV from the Tillis victory party, wearing a Tillis hat, saying "$4.7 million, we did it"
As a wise man once said, this was a new low for campaign finance, and it will come as no surprise that the FEC never did anything about Carolina Rising nytimes.com/2015/10/27/opi…
