Loving #solarpunk. In sync with #ecomodernism but different roots, visions. Been hoping for something like this. On sea level, e.g., given j.mp/climatemomentum, *someone* has to get juiced about designing for a future with no new "normal" coastline & #deepuncertainty. 1/3
There were hints of #solarpunk in the young MIT #oceanengineering crew at the @UNHABITAT #floatingcities special meeting, but really just beginnings. j.mp/ngfloatingciti….. But.. 2/3

I was a #biomasscooking skeptic, like many focused mainly on #PM25, for which #LPG is clear scaleable option. But saw #stacking reality - clean and smoky cooking together in India.
@cleancooking @paulbledsoe @Forbes @andy_grieshop @PamJagger @SETIenergy The declaration that emerged makes vital #cleancooking and #sdg7 points. Those gathered had different vantage points, but overcame resistance to #responsediversity & found common agenda. To me, next step is widening circles. Wicked problems need everyone engaged. #energyjustice

The senators are invested in 86 fossil fuel companies, including well-known giants like ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell, but also a range of lesser known companies that specialize in pipeline operations, natural gas exports, and oilfield services.

We went to the first Space Shuttle launch. I passed it on to my son, taking him to the last, and a bunch..
3/ ...of other unmanned launches over the years. I've often struggled to find a parallel to the feeling I sensed around me about the moon landings. It wasn't simply that we did it; it was the "screw it, damn the risks, we're doing this" of a braver nation.

The Fund was inspired by Nilda. From Honduras. Survived sex, domestic, & gang violence. Thought U.S. would protect her. Instead they stole her 2 y/o & detained her. “This is what happens when you come to my country” they said. She bravely told her story:
Nilda survived so much, first in Honduras, then on her journey, then in US custody. But even after her release & reconnection w/ her baby, her struggle continued. Unable to work w/o a delayed work authorization, trouble affording housing, food, basic necessities.

There's also a bias toward the status quo by being a winner in this economic system, says @NaomiAKlein. The way out is changing the frame of our coverage.
